What is it about? Climate change mitigation is one of the biggest challenges when we talk about climate action. Therefore at COP27, one of the most discussed topics is the implementation of the so-called "Carbon Markets". Even though this solution bring benefits, it is also seen by some critics as shifting CO2 credits from one side of the world to the other without real benefits for society. This workshop aims to discuss with the participants, their opinions and feelings with regards to this topic considering their personal experiences, background and their current local context, in order to gain a rich and plural narrative about the topic, that contribute to better understand the current or potential impacts.

Título: Impactos socioeconómicos y medioambientales de los "mercados de carbono en el sur global": ¿Beneficio o perjuicio?
¿De qué se trata? La mitigación del cambio climático es uno de los mayores retos cuando hablamos de acción climática. Por ello, en la COP27, uno de los temas más discutidos es la implementación de los llamados "Mercados de Carbono". Pese a tener beneficios asociados como la contribución al llamado Zero Neto, esta solución también es vista por algunos críticos como el traslado de créditos de CO2 de un lado a otro del mundo sin beneficios reales para la sociedad. Este taller tiene como objetivo discutir con los participantes, sus opiniones y sentimientos con respecto a este tema teniendo en cuenta sus experiencias personales, antecedentes y su contexto local actual, con el fin de obtener una narrativa rica y plural sobre el tema, que contribuya a comprender mejor los impactos actuales o potenciales.
